$50,000.00/yr - $50,000.00/yr

Position Summary

The Outside Sales Account Representative sells products, services, and value adds by visiting and interacting with established and prospective customers to ensure the achievement of individual and corporate sales and profit goals. The Representative is responsible for growing sales within existing accounts, expanding customer contacts, identifying and developing new opportunities, and generating new accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures growth of sales, identifies new prospects and contributes to corporate sales goals.
  • Understands customer needs and remains alert and responsive to changing customer needs.
  • Demonstrates consistent focus on actions that produce positive sales results.
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of customers’ products and services to formulate business strategies that drive revenue.
  • Communicates in an organized, clear and concise manner to support customer needs.
  • Maintains sales records and generates relevant market/sales reports for management as needed.
  • Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Develops a personal business plan under close management supervision to establish annual goals.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
Position Requirements
  • Self‑motivated with high energy level and desire to achieve beyond what is required.
  • Business acumen around sales forecasting, opportunity management, and customer planning.
  • Technological capabilities and understanding to communicate in today’s business environment.
  • Ability to listen, gain trust and close actions, projects, resolutions, or sales with customers.
  • Ability to use the sales process to uncover objections/concerns and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to maintain a plan of action until desired results are achieved.
  • Knowledge of MRO products and their applications.
Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years direct outside sales experience for an industrial distribution company required.
  • A valid driver’s license required.
