The Account Executive reports to the VP, Sales and works within the sales department to seek out new business opportunities and clients to grow our customer base in the long-term care/senior living sectors. This role is responsible for relationship building and learning both the client’s needs as well as their technical landscape to create a qualified pipeline of targeted sales opportunities.
The ideal candidate will utilize their knowledge of Meriplex products, technology, and services to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to introduce their prospective clients to what Meriplex has to offer through strategic business cases that includes a Return on Investment (ROI). Solid financial acumen is essential. The Account Executive is held to specific quotas and KPIs which they will need to meet and exceed to be successful.
- Responsible for providing excellent customer services to all assigned customers which is measured in the team and individual scorecard dashboards.
- Perform successful negotiations for competitive solution proposals highlighting Meriplex strategy of mutual business value.
- Proactively performing multiple prospective customer outreach and sales activities with an understanding that the majority of time will be spent in front of prospects; face‑to‑face or virtually.
- Utilize CRM to provide accurate, timely, and detailed forecast funnel of opportunities to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
- Interact with key stakeholders to ensure renewal and/or drive new sales through the finish line.
- Build and maintain rapport and trust within the organization through frequent communication, responsive ownership of deliverables, and respect for colleagues.
- Develop and maintain a high level of working knowledge about Meriplex products, services, and solutions.
- Possess a results‑driven mindset to proactively develop business opportunities independently.
- Maintain an accurate and timely pipeline for reporting including management of customer/client data.
- Consistently engage directly with technology partners (EOM) providing updates on new opportunities as they develop.
- Actively participate in training sessions targeted at the sales team to maintain a high level of working knowledge about Meriplex products, services, and solutions.
- Learn and practice the Meriplex sales process for new logo acquisition to build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities 5x your quota.
- Set your team up for success with proper hand‑off of new logo customers to an Account Manager.
- Maintain/manage a marketing plan with our marketing team utilizing email, webinars, events, etc. for your targeted prospects as well as assist with company‑wide marketing programs.

- Maintain regarding all open business opportunities, consistent communication with your sales leaders about what help you need and overall updates on the business in your territory.
- Solid experience with common sales productivity technologies such as Salesforce, marketing tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Manage time efficiently, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other members of the team.
- Self‑starter who takes initiative and works well with limited direction.
- Comfortable with highly visible opportunity/funnel management and closed opportunities scorecard dashboards.
- Proactive nature to develop business opportunities independently.
- Proficient at handling escalated and/or elevated customer negotiations with professionalism.
- Work efficiently and accurately to always present a professional image to customers/clients and technology partners.
Experience:
- Experience in long‑term care/senior living required with a nationwide rolodex.
