Cypress/Northwest Houston Coleman Agency is an authorized independent agency in Cypress, TX, under a trusted 85+ year insurance carrier serving 42 state governments. We seek a bilingual professional for our Benefits Counselor position, executing enrollment sales across district accounts. As a Benefits Specialist (Benefits Counselor), you'll work with our District Coordinator and Benefits Advisors to execute enrollments on accounts our Advisors have closed.
You'll conduct group enrollment meetings in Spanish and English, educate employees, and strategically maximize participation to meet case sales plan goals. You'll receive field development training and support, shadow experienced team members on live cases, and complete comprehensive certification (~60 days from licensing to independent case management). Licensed professionals gain faster access to income and accelerated advancement to District Benefits Counselor.
Our District Coordinator and administrative teams provide operational support, freeing you to focus on employee education and enrollment execution. Performance-based pay with no base salary. Earn at plan commission on enrollment execution, case plan achievement bonuses, and retention incentives. MUST BE FLUENT IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH (written and spoken).
- Execute enrollment sales through bilingual group meetings (10-50+ employees) across district accounts, strategically maximizing participation to meet case sales plan goals
- Conduct presentations in Spanish and English based on employee preference, explaining coverage options clearly and professionally
- Manage re-enrollments for district accounts, conduct annual reviews, and achieve retention and expansion metrics
- Work collaboratively with the District Coordinator and Benefits Advisors to understand the employer's mission, employee needs, and execute benefits plans
- Maintain employee relationships as their trusted bilingual resource, staying current on life events and coverage needs
- Assist with claims filing and benefits utilization, ensuring employees understand how to access coverage
- Stay current on employee changes
, leveraging technology to track new hires, life events, and coverage opportunities
- Strongly preferred: Active Texas Life & Health License (licensed professionals gain faster income access and accelerated advancement to District Benefits Counselor). Unlicensed candidates must commit to licensing within 2-4 weeks (we provide preparation and support)
- Preferred: Experience in group sales, employee benefits enrollment, or consultative B2B sales
- Bonus: Business degree, experience in insurance or financial services
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken) - MANDATORY
- Strong consultative sales background with the ability to educate and guide group decisions
- Group presentation skills with confidence, conducting meetings for 10-50+ employees in both languages
- Proficiency in math for enrollment calculations and premium computations
- Technology proficiency with enrollment platforms and tracking systems
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple accounts across the district
- Comfort with performance-based pay (no base salary) tied to enrollment execution
- Reliable transportation for meetings across the Cypress/Northwest Houston district
$55.000 - $75,000 yearly
