Senior Financial Reporting Consultant

Tatum was recently made aware of an interim need for an Energy client of ours in Houston, TX. This role will last 3-4 months and has the possibility of conversion to a permanent position. The project will take place on-site three days per week on the west-side of town. More details as follows:

• Full-Cycle Month-End Close: Execute the day-to-day accounting functions, including the preparation and posting of complex Journal Entries (JEs) and technical balance sheet reconciliations.
• Workiva Reporting: Utilize Workiva to draft, link, and manage the financial statement versions, ensuring data integrity across all schedules and footnotes.
• Data Validation: Partner with the Alteryx consultant to stress test automated outputs against manual results to ensure data integrity during the transition.
• Systems Interface: Navigate Net Suite and Zuora to extract data, investigate variances, and ensure sub-ledger to GL accuracy.
• Audit Support: Maintain high-quality documentation and work papers to external audit standards to satisfy auditor inquiries regarding manual processes.

• ERP Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Net Suite is required.
  
  Experience with
  Zuora is a significant advantage.
• Excel Mastery: Advanced capabilities for handling massive datasets.
• GL Accuracy: Deep understanding of the logic behind JEs and how they impact the P&L and Balance Sheet within a high-volume environment.

• Professional Background: 5+ years of experience in Corporate Accounting. A Big 4 audit background or specialized boutique consulting (e.g., Embark, RGP, Tatum) is the preferred pedigree.
• Resilience: Ability to handle a manual, labor-intensive close process with a focus on accuracy and detail.
• Collaboration: Comfortable working alongside a technical consultant to provide the necessary accounting logic for automation.
