Job Overview

Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Treat customers and employees with fairness and ethical conduct, promote an inclusive work environment, and uphold the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Create an environment that welcomes customers, maintains attention to detail, and addresses product questions within the department and throughout the store.
  • Maintain knowledge of all products sold and provide recommendations and suggestions to customers.
  • Collaborate with associates, promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals.
  • Prepare beverages according to recipe and standards, customize customer requests, and handle transactions with best practices.
  • Offer product samples, inform customers of coffee shop specials, and assist them in discovering new items.
  • Ensure customers receive fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to meet customer needs.
  • Use all coffee shop equipment—refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens—according to company guidelines; bundle, label, package, and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality for freshness, review sell‑by dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer properly.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain preventive equipment maintenance; notify appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents; report safety risks, issues, or illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
