Cocktail Server; Part-Time

Overview

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Cocktail Server to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Cocktail Server will be responsible for serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.

• Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner.
• Know the menu and be able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests.
• Take drink orders following policy regarding service of alcohol.
• Communicate meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation, and timed so the entire table is served within a reasonable time frame.
• Maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by clearing, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area.
• Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns.
• Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and bring issues to management.
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
• Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements.

• 1-3 years of restaurant experience.
• Ability to carry food and beverage trays safely and professionally.
• Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
• Physical demands:
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
