The Center for Cell and Gene Therapy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral fellow to work in the laboratory of Dr. Masataka Suzuki. The laboratory’s research focuses on cancer immunotherapies using adenoviral vectors to improve the treatment of various solid tumors. Dr. Suzuki's lab is currently evaluating his adenoviral vector in a clinical trial, and the hired postdoctoral fellow will be instrumental in further developing our immunotherapy, especially for adenoviral platform, for bench-to-bedside translation.
The position will be integrated within the larger Center for Cell and Gene Therapy which is a highly collaborative translational research center affiliated with Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine and Houston Methodist Hospital. Attendance at weekly educational seminars/lab meeting during standard work hours is generally expected.
Job Duties- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- Maintains laboratory operations.
Supervises research staff. - Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
- Strong background and experience in oncolytic viral cancer gene therapy.
- Experience in small animal studies, molecular and cellular techniques.
- Be highly motivated in writing and working independently.
- Strong background of adenovirus virology or vectorology are preferred.
- Applicants also have excellent communication skills and be willing to work on a multidisciplinary team.
