Responsibilities- The role leads and supports advanced stem cell research involving the isolation, culture, and ex vivo expansion of cord blood. The position oversees research quality, manages in vivo studies, and supervises laboratory staff and research assistants.
- Performing and coordinating benchwork, preparing specimens for flow cytometry, conducting BLI imaging and analysis, and ensuring accurate data reporting. Operates and helps adapt laboratory equipment such as flow cytometers, cell sorters, and microscopes, while contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
- Ideal candidate will have experience as a Research Scientist in Stem Cell Transplantation Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Master s Degree in Natural sciences or related field. Preferred:
PhD in Natural sciences or Medical Degree. - Work Experience:
Required:
Four years experimental or scientific work or two years experimental or scientific work with a medical degree. No experience required with PhD.

- Organizes in vivo studies in collaboration with postdoctoral fellows and supervisors.
- Responsibilities include tracking mouse orders, assigning tasks to research assistants (RAs), and supervising RA activities.
- Performs bench work as needed, including helping to prepare single cell suspensions from various mouse organs for flow cytometry.
- Trains others in bioluminescence imaging (BLI) and performs BLI analysis for the laboratory.
- Expertise in flow cytometry is beneficial but not required.
- Assigns and reviews the work of subordinates, establishes specific goals and objectives, evaluates resulting research data, and revises techniques or approaches as needed to address work related challenges.
- Plans and supervises the training of technicians and other laboratory personnel, ensuring proper laboratory techniques, safe equipment use, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Operates flow cytometers, cell sorters, and microscopes in the research laboratory.
- Supervises, designs, develops, or adapts equipment used in experiments or research to achieve desired results.
