Overview
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the department of Biostatistics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for biostatistics methodology research and clinical trial application. The main focus is research and publication. The primary focus will be developing novel methods for adaptive Bayesian clinical trial designs, derive related statistical theory, produce software for implementation, and build statistical learning tools for large data sets.
The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Ying Yuan on challenging and important clinical and biological projects that involve complex statistical modeling, data analysis and computation. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Learn statistical theory and application in cancer clinical trials.
- Obtain expertise in Bayesian adaptive designs, hierarchical models, and biomarker-based clinical trial design and analysis for precision medicine.
- Develop strong programming and computational skills.
- Gain interest in statistical methodology research.
- Acquire extensive experience in R, R-Shiny, and React.
Applicants must have a recent PhD in biostatistics or statistics from a reputable university or institute or be within 0-1 year of completing their degree. At least one first author publication in a peer reviewed journal stemming from PhD studies is required. A solid background in statistical theory, clinical trial applications, and Bayesian methods and computation is required. Some experience with machine learning is desirable.

Position InformationMD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000, depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
