Summary
The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate with a strong background in cancer biology and/or molecular biology. These skills would be applied in translational research on examining novel therapeutic strategies, mechanisms of therapeutic resistance and tumor biology.
The postdoctoral associate is expected to take a strong lead in ongoing research projects in the laboratory and support the research efforts of the research team (staff, post-doctoral scholars and graduate students). They will interact directly with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, surgeons, pathologists, chemists, and biologists to fulfill the aims of the research projects.
Job Duties- Works within a dynamic multidisciplinary group.
- Plans, directs and conducts research experiments, analyzes data and presents findings at lab meetings.
- Contributes to manuscript preparation and publishs research findings in peer reviewed journals.
- Assists with preparation of grant proposal and progress reports.
- Assists in training and mentoring of research staff, and day-to-day lab management and organization.
- Performs standard bioinformatic and statistical analyses on large datasets.
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
- Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and in studying cell signaling pathways
- Experience in working with animals (including performing surgery).
- Experience in analyses of genomic and proteomic data sets is preferred but not required.
- Self-motivated, with an ability to drive projects forward to meet deadlines.
