Overview3>The Research Associate II conducts advanced laboratory experiments on research projects with minimal supervision, developing technical research skills and establishing test methods and procedures under the direction of the Department Chairperson or Scientist.
Responsibilities- Lead and monitor a team of Research Assistants and Post Docs (0-2 members) in scientific activities, ensuring effective communication of needs and issues.
- Organize workflow, anticipate needs, and manage multiple priorities independently, serving as escalation support for less experienced staff.
- Analyze data for research grants and publications, maintaining accurate records of research and data collection.
- Develop and incorporate novel procedures and methods into research experiments as appropriate, maintaining quality control of project operations.
- Provide advanced technical research skills, documenting procedures and changes to the PI/Faculty’s Lab Study Methods manual and Laboratory Notebooks.
- Terminal Degree with four years of post‑doctoral experience or Master of Science degree with seven years of research experience.
- Four years of post‑doctoral experience with a terminal degree or seven years of research experience with a master’s degree.
- Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, assessed through ongoing competency evaluations and performance reviews.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English, sufficient for essential functions of this job.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co‑workers, applying positive language principles and customer service focus.
- Independent judgment related to situations of a sensitive, confidential, and scientific nature; ability to initiate and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage high volumes and rigid deadlines, prioritizing work to achieve maximum results in a timely manner.
