Description
The Quality Assurance Administrator is responsible for performing the duties assigned by the QA Supervisor, which will primarily focus on maintaining records of evidence for the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System and performing internal audits as assigned by the QA Manager.
Responsibilities not limited to:
1. Maintain Quality Records
- Check and keep C of C’s related to designed incoming materials such as steel and rubber products.
- Oversee the calibration system to ensure all items requiring calibration are up to date.
- Oversee and physically manage RMA materials once they have been received into the system.
- Inspect and confirm transfers from other VMC facilities, reporting findings to supply chain.
2. Auditing
- Perform and assist ISO Internal Audits as assigned by the QA Manager.
- Random sampling of in-process products to confirm specifications through dimensional checks.
- Where a manufactured product does not meet quality specifications, QA investigates/reports production line failures and identifies products for re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs (record keeping).
3. Training
- Perform New Employee Quality System Training for both shop and office personnel.
- Understand SWIs sufficiently enough to give direction to new employees concerning QMS.
4. Other
- Back-up Mechanical inspector
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of calibration processes for gauges and measurement equipment.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis related to RMAs, customer complaints, and in-house inspection data.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints and apply specifications to product inspection.
- Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools, including calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, durometers, and similar instruments.
- Ability to complete an ISO internal auditor course within the first six months of employment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Clear and professional written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and re-prioritize as needed.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001-certified environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
