We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for our animal patients. You will work closely with veterinarians and other staff to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and a passion for pet care.

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
  • Provide support in kennel management and ensure a clean, safe environment for all animals
  • Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
  • Handle animals with care and compassion, ensuring their comfort throughout their visit
  • Inventory control
  • Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, drugs, and vaccines, and bandaging and wrapping wounds
  • Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion or standing for extended periods of time
  • Maintain and complete the required yearly CE
  • Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors
  • Support patient examinations and operations by assembling required supplies and instruments, securing, and bringing patients to examination rooms, and restraining patients
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs
  • Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by following documented standards and procedures in compliance with applicable legal regulations
  • Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes with updates to databases in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to demonstrate and follow correct procedures in catheter placement, phlebotomy, surgery, and digital radiology
Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology, animal science, or a related field from an accredited program strongly preferred

1+ years of veterinary experience in a Veterinary Hospital Setting

Anesthesia monitoring and management skills strongly desired

Working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment

Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare

Able to restrain larger pets when necessary

Ability to apply critical thinking skills in challenging situations

Ability to adapt to and apply new protocols and standards of procedures

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
