Licensed Veterinary Technician Supervisor

VCA Jones Road Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team. This is a vital role in our hospital and works closely with the Hospital Manager and Medical Director to constantly build the practice and team.

VCA Jones Road is an AAHA-Accredited, fast-paced, 5-doctor practice in Houston, Texas offering excellent medical and customer service. The primary role of this position is to supervise the technical team, which includes the Technician Assistants, Veterinary Assistants, and RVTs.

VCA Jones Road is a well-established practice located in northwest Houston. We are a fast-paced urgent care facility with a loyal client base and a reputation for delivering high-quality compassionate care. Our hospital thrives on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement—and we’re looking for a Supervisor who shares those values.

In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with hospital leadership to support daily operations, elevate patient care, and foster a positive, productive environment for our technical staff. You’ll have the opportunity to lead by example, train and mentor fellow technicians, and implement protocols that help the entire hospital operate at its best.

Education and Experience
  • Graduation from an AVMA Accredited Veterinary Technology Program

  • Current LVT credentialing

  • Prior supervisory & leadership experience.

  • Knowledge of medical equipment management and maintenance.

  • Human Resources knowledge.

  • Experience with scheduling staff

  • Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability to take information obtained from clients, staff, and other sources, discern that which is credible and assess the hospital and its operation objectively.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once, and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities.

  • Must have strong medical skills.

  • Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts.

  • Ability to direct workflow on the floor.

  • Coach and mentor staff.

  • Assist with interviews.

  • Ensure the policies, procedures and guidelines are followed.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities.
