Required Skills:

Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification

Extensive experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery

Strong interview skills combined with the ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing

Ability to perform one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and report submission

Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

Skills:

Previous experience performing VA or military-related exams

Knowledge of veterans’ health concerns and disability evaluation processes

Familiarity with telehealth platforms or remote assessment tools

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, with active NP certification

Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a general medicine setting

Prior experience in a government or veteran healthcare environment is preferred

Other Requirements:

Ability to travel locally within Houston, TX, and surrounding areas

Own an established office within 50 miles of the designated city (if choosing to work from own location)

Commitment to ongoing administrative follow-up, including report addendums and diagnostics reading

Must be willing to complete required training and perform initial exams to qualify for a $650 bonus

This position offers competitive hourly pay at $402 per hour, with flat rates for half-day ($600) or full-day shifts ($1200), and a one-time training and exam bonus. Local candidates only; travel costs are included in the rates.
