Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner – General Medicine Houston, TX
Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner seeking flexible locum opportunities to make a meaningful impact? We are looking for skilled General Medicine Nurse Practitioners to provide essential healthcare evaluations on a temporary basis.
This role offers competitive compensation, a supportive team environment, and the chance to serve Veterans and diverse patient populations. Whether you prefer 4-hour or full 8-hour shifts, this position adapts to your availability while offering rewarding work in Houston, TX.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or general medicine
- Excellent interview and physical assessment skills
- Ability to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments
- Strong attention to detail and report documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and adhere to protocols
Skills:
- Prior experience with VA or government-related evaluations
- Background in orthopedic surgery or related specialties
- Experience in performing medical assessments for compensation and pension purposes
- Familiarity with medical documentation and report submission
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
- Prior experience in a locum or temporary healthcare role is advantageous
- Own a private office within a 50-mile radius of Houston, TX (if working from own location)
- Ability to complete exams and submit reports promptly within scheduled shifts
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including weekends or holidays if needed
- Travel is included in rates; no additional reimbursement for certifications or portal training
- Hourly Rate: $402.00
- Flat Rate (Half-day/4 hours): $600 (includes exam time, report submission; no OT)
- Flat Rate (Full-day/8 hours or more): $1200 (includes exam time, report submission; no OT)
- One-time Bonus: $650 upon completing initial training and first exams
- Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit
