RN Manager – Labor & Delivery (Night Shift) – Houston, TX

Location: Houston, TX

Shift: Nights | 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. | 5 shifts/week (may include weekends)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN Manager – Labor & Delivery to lead the night shift team in a fast-paced acute care hospital
. This leadership position is ideal for Labor & Delivery RNs
, L&D Nurse Managers
, and mother and baby care specialists who are passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN Manager will oversee unit operations, mentor nursing staff, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all night shift Labor & Delivery operations and nursing staff
  • Oversee mother and baby care
    , including high-risk pregnancy and postpartum services
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow to meet unit needs
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor, coach, and support professional development for L&D nurses and acute care RN staff
  • Collaborate with physicians, NICU teams, and multidisciplinary care providers to optimize outcomes for mothers and babies
Qualifications
  • Active RN license in Texas (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
  • 3–5 years of recent acute care Labor & Delivery leadership experience (within the last year)
  • BCLS certified & completion of Medication Learning Module (required)
  • NRP certification within 6 months of hire
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification within 6 months of hire
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Experience in Treatment Room, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ICU, High-Acuity/Step-Down, Labor & Delivery, and Operating Room
