Hourly Pay Rate: $402.00
In this role, you will perform comprehensive Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments such as range of motion and strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is involved. The position is on a PRN basis, offering flexibility with options for half-day or full-day shifts.
Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Experience in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related fields
- Strong interviewing skills and clinical assessment capabilities
- Ability to work independently and manage timely report submissions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams or Veterans’ healthcare
- Knowledge of physical assessment procedures
- Familiarity with VA or government healthcare protocols
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related specialties
- Previous experience performing medical exams for VA or similar agencies is a plus
- Provider must have own office within 50 miles of Houston, TX, or be willing to work on a per diem basis at a VES facility if within 50 miles of the listed location
- Quick credentialing and onboarding process
- Availability to start on February 13, 2026
- Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work such as addendums and reports after exams
