We are seeking a highly motivated Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine to support vital assessments and examinations. Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
- Ability to perform Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments
- Strong interviewing skills with proficiency in physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and adhere to strict clinical guidelines
Skills:
- Prior experience with Veterans Affairs (VA) related assessments
- Familiarity with medical diagnostics and report writing
- Certification in related specialties or additional training in compensation evaluations
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience, preferably in general or internal medicine
- Experience with administrative work such as report submissions and addendums
- Own or access to a private medical office within 50 miles of your home (required for providers operating their own practice)
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis with flexible scheduling (half-day or full-day shifts)
- Availability for ongoing assignments starting from February 13, 2026
- Must comply with all state and federal licensure, certification, and training requirements
- Travel reimbursement as applicable, with no additional costs for DMA certifications or portal training
- Hourly rate of $402.00, with flat rates of $600 for 4-hour shifts and $1200 for full-day shifts
- One-time bonus of $650 upon successful completion of initial training and first exams
- Weekly pay via direct deposit
