Exciting Opportunity for Licensed Nurse Practitioners in General Medicine!
Join Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, as a Locum Nurse Practitioner and make a difference by providing essential healthcare assessments for our nation's Veterans. This flexible, PRN position offers the chance to work independently at your own office location while supporting vital compensation and pension evaluations across Alaska. Key Details:

  • Location:

    Your own office in Juneau, Sitka, or Delta Junction (must be within specified radii)
  • Start Date:

    February 2, 2026
  • Compensation: $402 per hour with flat rates for exams ($600 for half-day, $1200 for full-day)
  • Schedule:

    Part-time, including half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts, ongoing assignments
  • Benefits:
    Weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), paid sick leave, licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable
  • Additional Perks:

Required Skills:
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Alaska or eligible for licensure
  • Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
  • Ability to perform interview-based assessments with some physical examination (range of motion testing, muscle strength testing)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfort working independently in a clinical setting
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or similar evaluations
  • Background in orthopedic surgery or other specialties related to general medicine
  • Familiarity with Veterans Affairs or government contracting processes
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing (NP certification required)
  • Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations is a plus
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage administrative tasks efficiently
Other Requirements:
  • Must have own office setup within the specified radius ranges
  • Willingness to complete training and perform initial exams to qualify for bonuses
  • Quick credentialing process and ongoing administrative follow-up work (addendums, reports) which is included in the scheduled rate
  • No travel reimbursements for certifications or portal training prior to start
