Registered Nurse

USPI North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our team. We have 4 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colorectal, GI, Pain Management. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Responsibilities

* Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures

* Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor vital signs before, during, or after surgery depending on assigned area (Pre Op, OR, or PACU)

* Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety

* Educate patients and families on procedures, anesthesia, and post-operative care

* Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with standards and regulations

* Support quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

* Current RN license in the state of Texas (required)

* BLS and ACLS certifications (required or willingness to obtain upon hire)

* 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, ideally in Pre-Op, PACU, or ambulatory surgery

* Experience in GI/endoscopy procedures is a plus

* Strong assessment and IV therapy skills

* Strong assessment and critical-thinking abilities in pre-op and recovery settings

* Proficient in-patient monitoring, including vitals, sedation recovery, and pain management

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions

* Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols

* Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

* EMR proficiency and accurate clinical documentation

* Competence in IV placement, medication administration, and emergency response
