Shift: Full-Time; 5’8s | Start time: 5:30am; 30 minutes prior to first scheduledcase – Ends when last patient is recovered

Position Summary
The Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nursedelivershigh-quality, patient-focused care throughout the perioperative experience.
This role includes preparing patients for surgery, monitoring recovery from anesthesia, and ensuring a safe transition from the surgical environment to thenext phase of care. The ideal candidate demonstrates critical thinking, calmunder pressure, and exemplary communication with patients, families, and surgical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients in pre-operative and post-anesthesiaphases.
- Monitor vital signs,airway, and pain levels during the recovery process, intervening promptlywhen needed.
- Administer medications and provide education on post-operative expectations and dischargeinstructions.
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the OR team to ensure patient safetyand quality outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation in compliance with all hospitals and regulatory standards.
- Support departmentalprocesses for infection control, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Current
RN license in the State of Texas (in good standing). - Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Current
BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required - Minimum one year of acute care experience; previous Pre-Op and/or PACU experience
- Demonstratedability to remain composed and professional in fast-paced settings.
