Overview

Kingwood Pines Hospital (a University Health Services facility) is a 116 bed facility located in the Kingwood community, about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services and serves children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health, with services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Job Summary - Psych Registered Nurse (RN) - TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT (13-WEEKS)

Pay Rate: $60.00 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse (RN) for a Temporary Assignment to join our team in providing exceptional mental health care at Universal Health Services, Inc. This role supports our mission to deliver compassionate and effective healthcare services. The RN participates in treatment planning as a member of an interdisciplinary team; provides assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician;

assesses, directs and intervenes in crisis situations; provides and directs milieu management, and additional tasks as needed. Candidates with behavioral health experience, a strong work ethic, and reliable timeliness and attendance are preferred.

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Participate in crisis intervention as needed.
• Uphold compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required. BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.
• Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience required. Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
• CPR and Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work. Training is offered during new hire orientation.

  Excellent communication skills. Ability to relate to individuals who are emotionally disturbed and in crisis.
