NEW Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Cardiovascular OR (CVOR)
Full-Time | Nights | Rotating Weekends
Shift Options: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
A leading women's and children's hospital in Houston is seeking a Pediatric CVOR Registered Nurse to join a highly specialized cardiovascular surgical team. This role supports pediatric patients undergoing complex heart procedures and plays a vital part in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
What You'll Do
• Perform preoperative patient assessments
• Educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care
• Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy and medication administration
• Participate in surgical site verification, time-outs, and universal safety protocols
• Monitor patients and respond quickly to emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based perioperative nursing care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team
• Document patient condition and care provided
• Support continuous improvement and patient safety initiatives
Position Highlights
• Self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance

• Ongoing investment in advanced surgical equipment and technology
• Leadership rounding and open communication for workflow improvements
• On-call required during select non-business hours
Required Qualifications
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN required within designated timeframe)
• Minimum 1 year recent acute care RN experience
• Experience caring for patients recovering from heart surgery
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days
Preferred Qualifications
• Children's Hospital experience
• Experience in NICU, Mother Baby, Pediatrics, or PICU
