• Assessment:
  Admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition; provides nursing care to meet physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. Notifies doctor of changes in assessment that require attention.
• Planning:
  Designs, directs, evaluates, and documents the plan of care, patient/family teaching and transition of care plan, including a safe discharge. Works with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs. Formulates a plan of care and daily goals based on individualized patient needs.
• Implementation:
  Prepares patients for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies; reports significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader and/or physician. Implements patient safety initiatives and protocols including medication safety practices, physician orders, and consult notifications.
• Evaluation:
  Reassesses patients at appropriate intervals following interventions and notifies physician as necessary to modify interventions. Adjusts nursing care to meet evolving patient needs.

  Provides bedside and shift reports with family participation; delivers accurate, comprehensive handoff to oncoming shift and delegates tasks to maintain continuity of care.
• Environment & Patient Safety:
  Maintains a safe patient and work environment; promptly handles equipment and linen disposal; contributes to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction efforts; reports safety and hazard concerns immediately.

• Required:
  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma; at least one (1) year RN experience at hire
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years from date of hire; current employees grandfathered before July 2020
  • Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse performance expectations or equivalent experience at hire
  • Licensed RN in TX at hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) within 14 days

• Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
