The Patient Care Technician position on the Rehabilitation & Neurosurgery unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a nursing assistant or a CNA certification.
The schedule will require two 12‑hour and two 8‑hour shifts each week. The shifts will be 7pm‑7am, 11pm‑7am, and 3pm‑11pm, with rotating weekends and holidays required.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
- Minimum $18.27
- Midpoint $22.84
- Maximum $27.40

The Rehabilitation & Neurosurgery unit cares for neurosurgery, neuro‑oncology, and inpatient rehab patients. The patient population is mostly adult, with some pediatrics or late adolescent patients. Our unit focuses on acute care patients and neuro‑progressive care patients who require more hands‑on monitoring the first 24 hours post‑surgery.
