Job DescriptionWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Manager – NICU RN to lead our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) during the night shift
. This is a full-time leadership role working 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
, with weekend and on-call rotation required.
As Nurse Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in clinical operations, team support, and quality initiatives for one of Houston’s leading NICUs. This is an ideal opportunity for a nurse leader who thrives in high-acuity neonatal environments and wants to make a lasting impact on critically ill newborns and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the NICU Director to manage daily operations and lead unit initiatives
- Supervise and mentor NICU staff, fostering accountability and clinical excellence
- Support performance improvement (PI) efforts and safety goals
- Deliver hands‑on clinical support and evaluate patient care outcomes
- Oversee care planning, discharge coordination, and family‑centered care practices
- Ensure ongoing compliance with hospital, regulatory, and safety standards
- BSN required
- Active RN license in Texas or Compact RN license with Texas endorsement (within 60 days of hire)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- 2+ years of recent NICU leadership experience (at charge nurse, supervisor, or manager level)
- Strong understanding of neonatal nursing standards, compliance protocols, and quality metrics
