Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Kingwood, Texas. This position is Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

Responsibilities- Oncology Clinic RN
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients and reviewing medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care
- Manage medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments.
- Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in the chart.
- Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Inter‑professional collaboration
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience.
Education/Training- Level I
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain continuing education requirements.
- Entry level – 0–3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level II
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level Senior
- In addition to Levels I and II, minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.
The work environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, radiation, and medical preparations common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
Physical RequirementsThe role requires a full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, and the occasional lifting of items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range is required.
