Full-Time at Townsen Memorial – Kingwood Surgical Center

The Registered Nurse, PAT coordinates pre‑admission testing and interview/assessment process for patients scheduled to undergo invasive or surgical procedures. Communicates with providers to optimize patient condition prior to surgery.

• Ensures supplies and equipment are available and in good working order.
• Explains nursing procedures and actions taken to reduce anxiety.
• Assesses patient’s physical and mental status.
• Documents patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Implements doctors’ orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Coordinates patient care and provides explanations and teaching to patient/family.
• Plans for routine events, anticipates/prevents and manages/em evaluates emergent situations.
• Adapts to unexpected changes.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes safety and reduces likelihood of errors.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.

• Works independently demonstrating sound judgment and reliability.
• Initiative and ability to troubleshoot and resolve conflict.
• Thrives and succeeds in a team environment.
• Exceptional organization skills; ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills with strong decision‑making and attention to detail.

• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
• One (1) year of perioperative nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support certified.
• Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certified or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
