Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated RN Manager to lead a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit in Houston, TX. This full-time, night shift position (no weekends) is ideal for a nurse leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about advancing maternal care.

Our unit is one of the busiest in the state, delivering over 800 babies per month, and requires a manager with a sharp clinical acumen, strong leadership presence, and a commitment to improving outcomes and team engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily clinical operations for a 15–20 bed Labor & Delivery unit

Coach, mentor, and hold staff accountable to standards of care

Collaborate with physicians, directors, and multidisciplinary teams

Lead quality improvement initiatives and monitor unit metrics

Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Assist with staffing, budgeting, and performance evaluations

Act as a clinical role model and resource to bedside nurses

Qualifications

Active RN license in the state of Texas

BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required

3–5 years of recent acute care L&D leadership experience

BLS and NRP certifications (NRP required within 6 months of hire)

AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification (required within 6 months)

ACLS certification preferred
