Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high‑quality care that impacts patients' well‑being and recovery. Every day you will provide individualized, comprehensive care, performing skilled procedures and implementing patient care plans. You will collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Assessment:
Conduct admission and ongoing assessment of patient conditions. Provide nursing care that meets physical, psychological and spiritual needs. Notify physician of changes requiring attention. - Planning:
Design, direct, evaluate and document the plan of care. Perform patient/family teaching and transition of care to safe, appropriate levels of discharge. Work with other disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs. - Implementation:
Prepare patients physically, psychologically and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies. Know patient conditions and report significant changes to nurse/leader and physician. Implement patient safety initiatives and protocols, including medication safety practices. - Evaluation:
Reassess patients at appropriate intervals following interventions. Notify physician when necessary to modify interventions. Adjust nursing care to meet emerging and changing needs. - Report
Skills:
Give and receive report using bedside shift report, including family participation. Provide an accurate and comprehensive report to the incoming shift to establish continuity of patient care. - Environment & Patient Safety:
Maintain a safe work environment. Promptly remove used and soiled equipment, linen and other items to appropriate locations. Incorporate national and organizational goals to improve quality, patient safety and satisfaction.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing or Diploma + at least 1 year RN experience upon hire
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years of hire (grandfathered prior to July 2020)
- Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
- Basic Life Support – CPR within 14 days of hire
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) upon hire
