The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for the complete care of the infant in the neonatal intensive care unit, attends and participates in daily NICU rounds with the attending physician. They will occasionally be expected to cover newborns, stabilize and together with the attending physician, initiate transfer of neonates to higher level of care when needed and attend high risk deliveries.

Position Location:
UTHealth Houston, Neonatology, Community Locations (Multiple Locations Available)
Greater Heights, Memorial City, Cypress
Schedule:
(7) 24hr shifts a month
Certification/
Skills:
Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse
Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP
Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding FNP certification unless paired with a post master’s certification in specialty.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or specialty certification as required by department.
Minimum Education:
Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
Minimum Experience:
None; previous experience in the area of clinical focus preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
