Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. It works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician and follows industry regulations and Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance.

How You Will Contribute- You will determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- You will evaluate donor reactions during the facility procedure, following SOPs for medical emergencies, issuing physician standing orders, and arranging transport to emergency care.
- You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, guidance on medical/technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
- You will support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- You will manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health or ER, referring to EHS guidance.
- You may act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactory completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and BenefitsLocation:
USA – TX – Houston – FM
U.S. hourly wage range: $23.85 – $32.79. The hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
