We are searching for a Physician Assistant or a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care Certified who is motivated to work in an exciting pediatric setting!
In this position, you will practice in an advanced role to provide developmentally appropriate and age‑appropriate health maintenance for well children, episodic care for ill children, and comprehensive care for children with chronic conditions. The NP or PA works under a delineation of clinical privileges and will work collaboratively with other members of the health care team. Practice under established guidelines and clinical protocols, the APP assumes independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of treatment and procedures.
Job duties are performed in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served. As an advanced practice provider, the NP or PA is responsible for education, research, consultation, and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels.
- Required Bachelor's Degree
- PA - Cert - Physician Assistant by the Texas Medical Board
- Master’s degree in nursing
- RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
- FNP, NNP, PNP-BC, WHNP-BC, CPNP-AC, or AG-ACNP from the Texas Board of Nursing
- PNP-AC strongly preferred
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred
- Provide medical services that are within the education and training of the Physician Assistant within the scope of practice and delegation of the supervising physician.
- Obtain a comprehensive health, developmental, and family history on patients and document appropriately in the patient’s medical record.
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings and document appropriately in the patient’s medical record.
- Prescribe or administer medications as delegated by the supervising physician and document in medical records.
- Administer appropriate vaccines as observed by physicians and documented in medical records.
- Order diagnostic tests consistent with differential diagnoses derived from gathered data.
- Foster collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to improve health care.
- Establish a relationship with the patient/family characterized by mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration.
- Daily use advanced practice knowledge and skills to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data and manage patients’ caseload.
- Obtain a comprehensive health, developmental, and family history on patients as documented in the patient’s medical record.
- Assess the patient’s physical status through the physical examination as documented in the patient’s medical record.
- Differentiates between normal and abnormal findings as documented in the patient’s medical record.
- Perform or recommend age‑appropriate health screening procedures as documented in the patient’s medical record.
- Provide health maintenance and health promotion for children of all ages as documented in the patient’s medical record.
- Perform and evaluate diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests as documented in the patient’s medical record.
- Analyze multiple sources of data and formulate a differential diagnosis in collaboration with physicians as demonstrated in the written documentation.
- Follow established delegation protocols to manage specific patient problems. Formulate a plan of care in collaboration with other health care professionals and document the plan in the patient’s medical record.
- Accurately evaluate patient’s responses to interventions and modify the plan of care demonstrated by written documentation.
- Accurately present and document the data, impression, and plan of care on all patients as demonstrated in the written documentation.
- Consistently demonstrate effective communication skills and work to eliminate communication barriers.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the health care disciplines to provide comprehensive care to patients.
