Cypress Creek Hospital is a free-standing 128-bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in north Houston, TX, minutes south of The Woodlands. The hospital features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Over 10,000 patients receive care each year. The team includes psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, mental health technicians and support staff, delivering compassionate care.
ResponsibilitiesFloor Registered Nurses – Night Shift – 7pm – 7:30am. The RN is responsible for implementing and evaluating patient care on Adult/Adolescent/Geriatric units; supervising and guiding nursing staff; assuming delegated responsibilities; supporting personal and professional growth; and performing other duties as assigned.
Position SummaryThe RN will implement and evaluate patient care on the Adult/Adolescent/Geriatric units; provide supervision and guidance for nursing staff; and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duties- Complete patient admissions process, including nursing assessment.
- Document ongoing patient assessments/progress clearly and concisely as required by hospital and regulatory agency standards.
- Medication management – administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician.
- Participate as member of interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Ensure nursing interventions.
- Provide milieu management and unit team leadership.
- Provide appropriate nursing intervention/documentation in crisis situations.
- Report unsafe conditions.
- Provide age-specific communication, limit setting and interventions.
- Provide health education to patients and their families.
- Prepare and adhere to facility patient discharge process.
- Interact with patients and staff in professional manner, promote teamwork and demonstrate Service Excellence.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state).
- One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications which can be obtained during orientation.
- Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.
