Job DescriptionThe Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing care to patients in a family medicine clinic, under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Coordinator. The LVN applies clinical nursing knowledge and demonstrates skills to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. The LVN identifies priorities and makes judgments concerning basic needs of multiple patients in order to organize care.
Responsibilities- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in a family medicine clinic.
- Monitor patient status and report changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Perform assigned nursing procedures, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, and patient education.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document nursing care and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations.
- Education: Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program (LVN I/II/III).
- Experience:
- LVN I – 6 months in a clinical area or completion of a KSC LVN Residency program.
- LVN II – 4–8 years in a clinical area.
- LVN III – 9+ years in a clinical area.
- License: Current and valid Texas LVN license (LVN I/II/III).
- Special
Skills:- Ability to use equipment and supplies for the assigned patient population.
- Computer skills;
Windows‑based and EPIC experience preferred.
- Other: Current BCLS certification.
Clinic setting in Greater Heights, Houston, TX. Full‑time position.
