Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - TCP Palm Center

Join our team at Texas Children's Hospital. We are looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for TCP Palm Center to gather information, assess, and provide direct care to patients in a collaborative, age‑appropriate care environment.

• High school graduate, GED, or equivalent
• Diploma or Certificate from a school of vocational nursing OR Documentation from the Texas Board of Nursing verifying an exception to the requirement for a diploma from a school of vocational nursing
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) by the State of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Compact
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Heart Association
• Knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
• Vaccination and triage experience

• Assists with the collection of patient/family data
• Provides general patient care
• Administers medication and immunizations
• Supports patient/families in self‑management of their health through assisting with education
• Triages patients
• Coordinates referrals
• Collects specimens and performs laboratory test

• All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Demonstrate SMILES and AIDET philosophies: acknowledge the customer, identify self, give customer a time expectation, keep customers informed by explaining all tasks, processes and procedures, thank the customer, adhere to Standards of Behavior.
