Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - TCP Palm Center
Join our team at Texas Children's Hospital. We are looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for TCP Palm Center to gather information, assess, and provide direct care to patients in a collaborative, age‑appropriate care environment.
Qualifications- High school graduate, GED, or equivalent
- Diploma or Certificate from a school of vocational nursing OR Documentation from the Texas Board of Nursing verifying an exception to the requirement for a diploma from a school of vocational nursing
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) by the State of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Heart Association
- Knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment
- Vaccination and triage experience
- Assists with the collection of patient/family data
- Provides general patient care
- Administers medication and immunizations
- Supports patient/families in self‑management of their health through assisting with education
- Triages patients
- Coordinates referrals
- Collects specimens and performs laboratory test
- All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Demonstrate SMILES and AIDET philosophies: acknowledge the customer, identify self, give customer a time expectation, keep customers informed by explaining all tasks, processes and procedures, thank the customer, adhere to Standards of Behavior.
