About West Oaks HospitalWest Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over four decades. Our 176‑bed acute care facility is fully accredited and includes a 16‑bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, and adults, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient services. The hospital is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
ResponsibilitiesHouse Supervisor (RN) Day Shift Opportunity – 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. The House Supervisor (RN) provides direct supervision for all nursing personnel on duty when the Assistant Director, Nursing and Director, Nursing are not present, monitors and assesses facility‑wide patient care for adults (ages 18+), adolescents (ages 13‑17) and children (ages 5‑12), and ensures consistency with West Oaks Hospital philosophy.
- Provide leadership and direction to all RNs, LVNs and Mental Health Technicians as well as clinical/administrative support for the facility during the shift.
- Interpret and discuss administrative policies with staff, patients and visitors when necessary; ensure completion of admission paperwork and that patients are fully informed during the admission process.
- Maintain the philosophy, goals and objectives for the Nursing Department compatible with professional nursing practice.
- Ensure the hospital maintains proper staffing levels while on duty.
- Supply medication for patient use to the units in collaboration with the on‑call pharmacist per hospital policies and procedures.
- When required, receive referral/inquiry calls, respond to requests for information on programs/services, and perform assessments/medical screenings.

- Education Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing either through ADN, Diploma or BSN Program. - Licensure and certification
Required:
Current Texas State Registered Nurse licensure. CPR and hospital de‑escalation certifications. - Experience
Required:
Five years of inpatient psychiatric nursing and/or medical/surgical experience to include supervisory experience.
