Position Summary:
Are you passionate about caring for children and families affected by congenital heart disease? Are you looking for a team that shares your same passion and dedication to the CHD community? The Children’s Heart Institute is looking for an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join the Pediatric and Congenital Heart surgery team. Your primary responsibility is to provide advanced provider care and clinical guidance to patients and their families, as well as the ancillary care team, regarding pre-operative and post-operative management.
The role involves patients in the outpatient clinic setting, as well as managing post-operative care and concerns in the acute care setting.

Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse
Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP
Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding FNP certification unless paired with a post master’s certification in specialty.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or specialty certification as required by department.
Minimum Education:
Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
Minimum Experience:
None; previous experience in area of clinical focus preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
