About this role:

The Senior Major Gift Officer is a proactive fundraiser and relationship builder, managing a portfolio of prospects with the capacity to support the USGA's mission with gifts of $50,000 or more. Prospect management includes identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing and stewarding prospects and donors, and aligning donor interests with the strategic priorities of the USGA. The Senior Major Gift Officer will play a pivotal role in developing and achieving an annual work plan with visit and solicitation goals in partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer.

The ideal candidate will bring a natural ability to connect with donors, and a collaborative approach. The Senior Major Gift Officer will think strategically to contribute meaningfully to fundraising goals, effectively communicating the USGA's strategic priorities to inspire support and build new relationships.

The Senior Major Gift Officer will be assigned a territory of responsibility, including Texas and the surrounding region, and will travel extensively to develop and strengthen prospect relationships.

What you'll do:

Develop and executive a major gifts strategy that drives sustainable growth, managing a portfolio of 150-175 prospects
In partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, establish annual goals for visits, solicitations, and dollars raised
Design and develop compelling presentations and pitch decks, conduct prospect research, and lead prospect meetings in support of goals
Identify, qualify, and cultivate new prospects, driving continuous growth
Maintain integrity and accuracy of CRM database to track prospects, gift recording, and reporting
Engage USGA volunteers and committees as a network of major gift referrals and connections
Prepare donor communications and updates demonstrating impact and progress on strategic priorities
Provide coaching and feedback to encourage and support high performance of Foundation team members

Where you'll be:

This role can be based at our campuses in NJ or NC on a hybrid schedule, or work remotely. Employees that are based at one of our campuses are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. The Senior Major Gift Officer should expect to spend a significant amount of time traveling to develop and strengthen prospect relationships, partcularly in Texas and the surrounding region.

What you bring:

8+ years of progressive fundraising experience in major non-profit organizations, including securing gifts of $50,000+
Proven ability to create and cultivate relationships across a diverse group of prospects
Superb communication and interpersonal skills are a must
An appreciation for the game of golf is strongly preferred
A team player and collaborator
People manager experience is a plus
An authentically mission-driven person, who aligns with our purpose to unify, showcase, govern, and advance the game of golf

Salary Range: $135,000 - $175,000
The annual base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $175,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications. In addition to your base compensation, the USGA provides competitive benefit offerings for all full-time employees.
