Job Summary

The Grants and Special Events Manager plays a critical role in securing institutional funding and supporting high-quality fundraising events for Faith In Practice. This position has an intensive focus on grants prospecting, grant writing, and grant budget development, while also supporting the organization’s event consultant to ensure excellence in event planning, management, and execution. The role works closely with the Chief Development Officer to advance Faith In Practice’s fundraising strategy through institutional giving and donor engagement events.

Key

Tasks and Responsibilities

Grants Administration (70%)

  • Lead grants prospecting efforts to identify new institutional funding opportunities aligned with Faith In Practice’s mission and programs.
  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Create detailed and accurate grant budgets in coordination with the CDO/CFO and program staff.
  • Manage grants submission schedules, reporting deadlines, and stewardship requirements to ensure compliance with funder expectations.
  • Compile and maintain all required grant documentation, narratives, budgets, and supporting materials.
  • Track grant activity, outcomes, and reporting requirements in coordination with the Programs, Development and Accounting teams.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer on grant strategy, pipeline development, funding priorities, and funder relationships.

Event Administration (30%)

  • Work closely with Event Consultant to produce annual events established by the CDO that support fundraising and engagement objectives.
  • Coordinate with CEO, CFO and CDO on planning and communication related to Board of Directors meetings.
  • Compile all necessary support documents and distribute to board members prior to each meeting for their review.
  • Schedule necessary AV or tech support for each meeting.
  • For in-person meetings, schedule any necessary refreshments with the help of the Development Manager. Participate with CDO and events consultant in the budgeting process for all events and assist with contract negotiations with individual vendors/venues related to each event.
  • Work closely with Accounting and event consultant in managing expenses related to each event as it relates to events budget.
  • Create event timeline and program, as well as assisting with review of printed/digital communications related to each event.
  • Lead all communication with event vendors, including the hotel venue and AV company.
  • Manage all event related communications distribution and design tasks with Marketing Specialist to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with event chairs on all table sponsor related tasks, including sponsor letters, distribution lists, guest ideas, event suggestions, and program development/scheduling for the day of the event.
  • Collaborate with Development Manager on all data related to events guests and giving.
  • Assist Director of Development to identify potential donors among event attendees, pre and post event for research and additional cultivation or stewardship.
  • Other Development related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in addition to education.
  • Strong English language skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess the highest level of proven organizational skills.
  • Possess the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
