Social Media Manager – Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine
Apply for the Social Media Manager role at the University of Houston. The Social Media Manager will develop and manage the College’s social media strategy and tactics and will be responsible for growth and engagement across all social media platforms.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage the College’s social media plan and strategy to enhance brand awareness and build engagement among our various constituents.
- Create social media marketing campaigns for the College with specific plans per platform and set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including targets for a certain number of shares or likes to measure a campaign’s success/performance.
- Create engaging content for all social media platforms in support of the College’s overall marketing goals in line with best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze the organization’s social media platforms and messaging, identifying opportunities for improvement, drive growth and engagement across all platforms.
- Work closely with the Communications, Student Success, and Development teams, other departments and targeted faculty and industry partners to identify and create posts that inform and bring the College’s brand to life for each of our constituent groups.
- Work closely with the relevant staff to monitor conversations, respond to customer service inquiries, and respond in a timely manner to current situations relevant to the College.
- Manage the College’s SEO efforts and make adjustments for improvements to the website, Industria focusing on insights and data reporting.
- Integrate social media with the College’s website as needed by identifying opportunities to leverage the latest in social media trends.
- Develop relationships with the College’s student organizations and Student Success departments to facilitate student communications about events and other related opportunities.
- Highlight faculty research in an effort to engage industry as well as the media.
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline, or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. The knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job‑related, four‑year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in‑depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job‑related experience. Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience and is willing to accept experience in lieu of education.
