Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, close tolerance, fatigue rated fasteners using materials such as alloy steel, 718, titanium, waspaloy, A-286 and multiphase. Our fasteners support most current space programs as well as our nation's fleet of military aircraft and weapon systems. The Lead Production Engineer will be the technical linchpin between our design engineering and shop floor operations. You will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for high-strength, fatigue-rated aerospace fasteners.

• Lead the design and refinement of manufacturing workflows for complex materials (Titanium, Waspaloy, A-286, Nickel Alloy).
• Mentor a team of production personnel and manufacturing technicians. You will be responsible for technical training, performance reviews, and fostering a culture of "Safety First."
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, and increase first-time yield (FTY).
• Drive the transition of new products from design to full-rate production, including the development of work instructions, tooling requirements, and First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102.
• Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex production bottlenecks, equipment failures, and machining non-conformances (RCCA).
• Partner with the Quality department to ensure all processes adhere to AS9100 Rev D and ITAR regulations.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership or senior engineering capacity.
• Direct experience in the aerospace fastener industry is highly preferred.
• Deep understanding of machining processes (CNC grinding, centerless grinding, thread rolling, heat treatment, and plating).
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JobBOSS, SAP).
• Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint reading.

• Ability to stand and walk on the manufacturing floor for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Willingness to work in an environment with temperature changes and high-decibel noise (PPE provided).
