Laser Machine Operator

Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Programmer/Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team on the 1st shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and operating sheet and plate laser cutting equipment with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. This position requires a solid understanding of technical drawings and specifications, as well as the ability to operate precision tools and machinery in a fast-paced production environment.

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in production.
  • Use and maintenance of precision measuring equipment such as  OD Micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly PM checklist
  • Work with Maintenance on major maintenance and repairs
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified standards.
  • First Article Inspection
• Maintain inventory of production related consumables.

• Ability to work 1st shift (8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday, Saturday 1/2 day)
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Min 5 years programming lasers for sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Able to communicate effectively both oral/written.
• Ability to read blueprints, understand GD&T including ability to write, edit and troubleshoot programs and machine issues.
• Excellent multi-tasking ability, attention to detail, critical thinking, and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary.
