Material Generalist

The Material Generalist supports plant operations by safely and efficiently handling raw materials, components, and finished goods. This role involves pulling product, visually verifying materials against documentation, packing items for shipment, and accurately tracking inventory. The position operates a variety of forklifts and overhead cranes and uses the company’s computer systems to verify material locations and quantities.

• Read and follow internal shipping documents, written procedures, and verbal instructions as needed
• Pull, stock, distribute, and stage materials accurately and efficiently
• Count materials manually or using electronic counting scales to ensure correct quantities
• Prepare accurate, neat, and legible paperwork
• Load and unload materials onto pallets and racks using forklifts, cranes, or manual handling
• Use box cutters and wire cutters to open boxes, crates, and bundles safely
• Communicate progress, issues, and concerns clearly and promptly to supervision
• Interact professionally with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
• Follow all safety requirements and work in compliance with OSHA standards
• Meet individual and company performance expectations and metrics

• Perform light, repetitive, supervised manufacturing tasks as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• General knowledge of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, go/no-go gauges, and tape measures
• Ability to maneuver and lift materials weighing up to 70 pounds

• Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse or material‑handling equipment
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with desktop applications

• Manufacturing environment requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to position oneself to move, install/remove, adjust, measure, and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds
