Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily equipment inspection attachments, record or log and notify Operations lead, coordinator, or supervisor if there are any problems and/or issues with the equipment
  • Coordinates with the Machine Operator / Supervisors on all work orders in production
  • Confirms sure daily coil list is available and updated
  • Communicates and transfers material needed for orders
  • Performs the staging and inspection of all materials before processing
  • Reports damaged or non-conforming products to quality rep
  • Update locations and scale weigh products
  • Completes all daily tasks given and communicates if not completed
  • Empties scrap hoppers daily and records weight on scrap log
  • Assists shipping and receiving operations when needed
  • Assists in the operation of machine in the absence of the primary machine operator
  • Identifies process deficiencies and reports to management
  • Assists in other areas of the operation as requested

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Familiar with safe work practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of crane capacities, accessory equipment and rigging
  • Ability to move large sized and unusually shaped steel plates in a safe manner
  • Ability to calculate weights of material
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to traverse the distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis and handle materials safely as part of daily job duties.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain safe body positioning while performing tasks and moving through the work area, including walking on concrete floors and uneven surfaces.
  • Frequent squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, requiring full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength to perform work safely.
  • Manual agility to operate tools safely and effectively, with regular use of arms, shoulders, and back for lifting, reaching, and positioning tasks.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Maintain adequate visual and auditory acuity to safely perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to: identifying potential hazards, reading and/or recording measurements, inspecting materials, and responding promptly to verbal instructions, alarms or hand signals in the work environment
