Job Title: Production Operator
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Production Operator to support daily operations in our steel coil processing facility. This role is critical to maintaining efficient production by assisting with equipment, setups, maintenance, and keeping work areas safe and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the operation of production and coil processing machinery
- Perform slitter head setups as directed by lead operators
- Support equipment maintenance and troubleshooting efforts as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by performing routine 5S activities
- Assist with coil handling and material flow during processing
- Move between production cells as necessary to support workload demands
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and safe material handling
- Conduct basic quality checks and report any non-conformances to leadership
- Communicate effectively with operators, team leads, and maintenance personnel
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior experience in a steel or manufacturing environment is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine setup and operation
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and with a team
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, industrial setting
Work Environment &
Physical Requirements:
- Exposure to heavy machinery, steel materials, noise, and temperature variations
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching
- Must be able to traverse the distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
- Use of PPE (steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection, etc.) is required

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis and handle materials safely as part of daily job duties.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain safe body positioning while performing tasks and moving through the work area, including walking on concrete floors and uneven surfaces.
- Frequent squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, requiring full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength to perform work safely.
- Manual agility to operate tools safely and effectively, with regular use of arms, shoulders, and back for lifting, reaching, and positioning tasks.
- Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Maintain adequate visual and auditory acuity to safely perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to: identifying potential hazards, reading and/or recording measurements, inspecting materials, and responding promptly to verbal instructions, alarms or hand signals in the work environment
