CNC Machinist

The Opportunity

Description

• Support and promote a strong safety culture with a safe-to-start mindset
• Operate CNC and manual lathes, VTLs, and milling machines
• Align large rotors and gas components within tight tolerances for machining, grinding, and runout corrections
• Program CNC machines and calculate feed rates, speeds, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut
• Read and interpret OEM drawings, REIs, work instructions, digital routers, and blueprints
• Apply working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Monitor machine operations, identify out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust controls as needed
• Select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials for machining operations
• Support rotor and machine shop operations based on customer requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 10+ years of related machining experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Advanced/expert skills in:
  • Turning OD’s and ’s
  • Grinding and burnishing
  • CNC mills and CNC lathes (including NC feed rate calculations)
  • Manual mills, manual lathes, and manual VTLs
• Ability to operate both CNC and manual machines
• Strong understanding of algebra, geometry, and machining calculations
• Experience in gas turbine repair (HSPT, GE10s, FR3, FR5, FR6, F7) and rotor/component machining is a plus
