Buyer/Planner (Contract – 6 Months) (Finance)
Amphenol Energy Technologies is seeking a Buyer/Planner to support our Houston manufacturing operations during a temporary leave coverage period. This is a 6‑month contract position responsible for maintaining continuity of purchasing and production planning activities to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning and procurement of materials, supplies, and services required to support production. This role works closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing schedules while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, supplier performance, and cost control.
The successful candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of supply chain and purchasing processes.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (Business Administration, Supply Chain Management) with 2–4 years of related experience, or 6–8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience working with ERP systems and purchasing processes
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cross‑functionally with production, engineering, and suppliers
- Plan and purchase components required to support manufacturing schedules
- Issue and manage purchase orders for assigned materials and suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance including delivery, quality, and lead times
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve shortages, expedite materials, and support production priorities
- Manage inventory levels for purchased items to ensure availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
- Analyze purchasing data and supplier performance to support cost and delivery improvements
- Maintain integrity of ERP data including purchase orders, lead times, and inventory transactions
- Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to align material availability with production needs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material planning, supplier performance, and inventory management
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel objects. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
