Openwork is partnering with a growing uniforms operation in Houston to hire an experienced Seamstress who takes pride in quality work and thrives in a production-driven environment. This is a steady, hands-on role where your expertise directly impacts the final product and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

You will play a key role in producing professional garments that meet strict fit and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include:
  • Altering and repairing uniforms (hemming, resizing, tapering, sleeve adjustments)
  • Operating industrial and standard sewing machines
  • Taking accurate measurements and assisting with fittings
  • Inspecting finished garments to ensure quality and durability
  • Maintaining equipment and an organized workspace
  • Following detailed production specifications
  • Meeting daily production expectations
Work Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (one weekday off)
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Sunday off
What You Bring:

We are seeking professionals who demonstrate:
  • Experience as a seamstress, tailor, or garment alterations specialist
  • Strong garment construction and alteration skills
  • Ability to take precise measurements
  • Comfortably operating industrial sewing equipment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • High school diploma or GED
Preferred but not required:
  • Experience with uniforms or professional apparel
  • Embroidery skills
  • Heat stamping or vinyl heat stamping experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
